I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and the PTO for funding my project, “First Little Readers.” Reading books at an appropriate level is crucial in aiding youngsters in becoming confident, fluent readers. My first grade classroom contains a myriad of levels. I have students who are emerging pre-readers as well as kids who are fluent readers. The PTO grant allowed me the opportunity to purchase materials to help my class further strengthen their skills in vocabulary, comprehension, and phonological awareness.
